Finding the Target Audience

To get target audience feedback, I first had to find out who in my immediate vicinity was my target audience. To do this, I first did a general audience survey. I printed out 30 copies of the survey and geve them to friends and students.

The survey had six questions:

1. What is your favourite music genre right now?

2. Please name some well-known artists of this genre

3. What did you listen to when you nwere 13/14/15 years old?

4. If this is different to your current tastes, please name some well-known artists of your old favourite genre.

5. If a Magazine was called "Bright" what kind of magazine would you expect it to be.

6. Which do you listen to more often, Bands or Solo Artists?

With these questions I could find my target audience of people who listen to, or previously have listened to my chosen genre for my Music Magazine (Pop Music)

A day after creating the survey, I have so far recieved 10 back. Of those 10, five responses are possible members of my target audience.
