Rough Cut Front Cover

This is the Front Cover for my Rough Cut. The main cirticisms for the front cover were the White background, the clunkiness of the features and there being too many colours. The border is also bigger and takes up alot more space than examples in my style models.

The main positives were the plug stories features, the bright colours (heh) and the realistic looking barcode and features.

As well as address all the criticisms, I will also do alot of changes to main image and Top Border to match my Style models.

For my fonts I plan to remove some of the borders and stop using the "A Bit Empty" font.

Border

Today's media lesson was spent creating the top border for my Front Cover Magazine. It resembles my initial ideas for my colour scheme (Purple and Yellow), the star appeals to the teenage audience

Finding the Target Audience

To get target audience feedback, I first had to find out who in my immediate vicinity was my target audience. To do this, I first did a general audience survey. I printed out 30 copies of the survey and geve them to friends and students.

The survey had six questions:

1. What is your favourite music genre right now?

2. Please name some well-known artists of this genre

3. What did you listen to when you nwere 13/14/15 years old?

4. If this is different to your current tastes, please name some well-known artists of your old favourite genre.

5. If a Magazine was called "Bright" what kind of magazine would you expect it to be.

6. Which do you listen to more often, Bands or Solo Artists?

With these questions I could find my target audience of people who listen to, or previously have listened to my chosen genre for my Music Magazine (Pop Music)

A day after creating the survey, I have so far recieved 10 back. Of those 10, five responses are possible members of my target audience.
